Our moniker “apricus” is a Latin word meaning “full of sunlight.” We not only want to fill your life with joy and enhance your day-to-day moments with our candles but give back to causes that light up our world. That’s why starting for our first three years of business we are donating 6% of our annual net sales to Wishing Well Sanctuary, a safe haven for abused and neglected animals located in Ontario, that, through humane education, promotes mental health and well-being, healing, and joy to youth and their families + those suffering from trauma and addiction. We pledge to increase our donation size as we grow.

Why We Support Wishing Well Sanctuary
A Safe Haven For Abused + Neglected Animals
They provide a safe haven for abused and neglected animals, ensuring that their animal family receives excellent love and care. One of Wishing Well Sanctuary’s mandates is to rescue farmed animals from abuse, neglect and cruelty. Of equal importance is their vision of promoting emotional well-being for people, with the goal of deepening our understanding of the interconnectedness of all life.
Humane Education For A Kinder World
At Wishing Well, humane education is a key component of the Sanctuary’s mission to cultivate a kinder, gentler world. They promote care and respect for all beings through humane education programs that teach empathy, compassion and integrity, and fosters personal and community responsibility to alleviate suffering. While it focuses on being kind to people, it also goes beyond that, championing compassion for all animal species and caring for the planet.
Promoting Mental Health + Well-being
Their newest mission is to promote mental health and well-being for youth as well as their families and caregivers. They will also be extending the sanctuary to those affected by trauma, addiction and other difficulties while providing courses, seminars, and workshops to foster happiness and healing.
